Maxime has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. He holds a PhD in Economics from Sorbonne Paris Nord University.
From 1995 to 2002, he held various positions, including Project Manager at Schlumberger Industry and Mission Director at Ernst & Young. In 2002, he joined IFP School, where he served as a professor and coordinated the Petroleum Economics and Management program (now Energy Technology Economics and Management) until 2005.
From 2005 to 2010, on secondment from IFP Energies nouvelles, Maxime Schenckery worked as Deputy Economic Advisor and North American Energy Expert at the Consulate of Houston for the French Embassy in the United States, contributing to the enhancement of Franco-American bilateral relations in the energy sector.
He then joined Qatar Petroleum until 2015, where he was in charge of the Economic Analysis and Market Forecasting Department for the Strategy Directorate. Maxime subsequently led ePwak Energy Research, a consulting and research firm, where he contributed to various studies and research projects in France, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. These projects focused on energy transition scenarios in a decarbonized world, natural gas management, and the impacts of the Smart Cities concept on energy systems.
Maxime Schenckery was appointed Director of the Center for Economics and Energy Management at IFP School on September 3, 2018.
Dr. Maxime Schenckery leverages expertise in energy economics and polities into delivering graduate education at IFP SCHOOL. His research interest focuses on energy economics applied to geopolitics, energy supply security, energy innovation management, and energy transition in resource rich countries.
